Ignore Windows, Intel Rely on Android Tablet

Intel hopes to take the momentum of the increasing popularity of Android tablets. The chip giant is targeting a homemade processor will be used in 40 million tablets this year, in which 80 to 90 percent using the Android OS.
The rest wear other OS, especially Windows from Microsoft. Thus, Intel no longer too hopeful on Windows in the tablet segment. Indeed, the Windows tablet market share rather small compared to Android tablets.
"In the first quarter, we shipped 5 million tablets processor, be strong progress towards our goal of 40 million tablets in 2014," said Intel CEO Brian Krzanich
If Intel successfully reach the target, meaning they will reach the tablet processor market share of about 30%. Because there are approximately 130 million projected tablets shipped in 2014.
In the tablet PC market, Intel today is still the underdog. The majority of currently marketed tablets using a processor based on ARM, a British company.
