One of the most popular messaging app in the world , WhatsApp , blocked ( banned ) by the Iranian government . During this WhatsApp , which was recently acquired by Facebook , is one of the main chat medium for people to communicate with friends and relatives inside and outside Iran .
Reporting from Phonearena , the Government of Iran through Iran 's Committee on High Crimes ( Committee On Crime Internet Iran ) has been ordered to block WhatsApp throughout Iran .
Of course this provoke a reaction from around the WhatsApp users in Iran . They questioned why the Iranian government to block the media 's favorite chat in their country .
One of the speakers at the ministry namely Abdolsamad Khorramabadi ( Chairman of Iran 's Committee on High Crimes ) that is related to the issue sensistif that WhatsApp which was recently acquired by Facebook ( owned by Mark Zuckerberg ) is a dangerous spy States that in fact seen as Jewish .
Surprisingly , Facebook itself is still accessible in Iran . Not only that , the people of Iran are also still free to use Instagram , Twitter , Viber , and YouTube . In fact , some government officials still looks to be active users across multiple social networking sites .
By blocking the discourse raises concerns that Iran began to implement a variety of content on the internet censorship regularly and gradually . Previously , the Government of Iran or less since mid-2013 and has banned the messaging service to join one of the other chat applications , namely WeChat .
